Hi,

This blog is a starting point to build your Custom Fiori Apllication with the SAPWebIDE On-Premise based on your On-Premise Gateway system.

First of all, why SAPWebIDE:

The SAPWebIDE has a lot of great features which are not available in eclipse and it's easy to use in the cloud. You don't need to configure any connection. One of the features of SAPWebIDE is the wizard to generate a fiori application based on your OData services. Besides the wizard it has also a wysiwyg editor. But from my opinion this has still some bugs and limitations. There are lot more features which you can find in the sap help: SAP Web IDE Developer Guide

Second, why On-Premise:

For my Custom Fiori Application I'm going to use my On-Premise backend system and my On-Premise gateway system. So if I only want to use my custom fiori application internally, why should I use cloud. For the cloud, I would also need the cloud connector and a cloud account. I don't want/need this overhead so therefore I want to install the SAPWebIDE On-Premise!

Follow the steps to build your Custom Fiori Application:

1) Install and configure the SAPWebIDE On-Premise:

Start with the SAP Web IDE On-Premise

Connect the SAPWebIDE On-Premise to your SAP Gateway system On-Premise

2) Generate your Custom Fiori Application:

3) Extend your generated Custom Fiori Application:
